Crawl before you walk.

New Christians

There are different levels in our connection with God. With that being so, not all messages from God should be taught to beginners because, like humans go through different stages of growth, from birth to adulthood, a new Christian needs to grow spiritually. In 1 Corinthians 3:2, Paul said, "I gave you milk to drink, not meat; for you were not able as yet. But neither indeed are you now able; for you are yet carnal." New Christians should be taught basic knowledge of God and their walk with Christ. So, bombarding someone who wants to get to know God, with too much information or force is not the best approach.

When a new convert takes on more than he can chew after hearing a certain message, by acting without the spirit, the consequences could be dire. 1 Timothy 3:6 says, "Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he falls into the condemnation of the devil." As stated in 1 Timothy 3:6, Sometimes it may seem like something is for you since you are now in the house of the Lord, but it is not. This position might require months or years of connection with God and a certain level of spiritual growth. But whether it is long or short, is not what matters, the important thing is to wait on God's perfect timing. So, consistently watching, asking God to guide your steps, and going to Him in prayer before taking on any task, is crucial. This way, you avoid the enemy’s plan to lead you back into the world or to deceive other followers of Christ.

Another reason why new believers must be spoon-fed is because God desires a deep relationship with us and that requires understanding who He is, dying to the flesh and building a relationship with Him, which is a process. (Matthew 22:37). In 1 Corinthians 2:14 Paul says, "But the natural man receives not the things of the spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned." You must be walking in the spirit to fully receive and understand the messages of God.

Pray and ask God for the spirit of understanding, wisdom and discernment. Only He can open up your mind and remove the veil from your eyes to enlightenment and spiritual growth. This is not an overnight process. As imperfect beings, God meets us where we are to help us learn, build, and grow. If you abide in him, with patience, his will, will be done in your life and you will be renewed.

Many blessings to you!
